You can use it to clamp on to light stands, background supports and boom arms. This can be done by attaching your camera/ cold shoe via tripod screw mount and clamp wherever you want. The ball head can rotate 360 degrees, which makes it very convenient for adjusting shooting angles. It has rubber caps on the clamp to protect your expensive photographic equipment.
